Does anyone remember when Wolverine had a Enhanced Healing Factor, instead of near instaneous regeneration of any wound?
Does anyone remember when Wolverine fought Mariko's dad and it took him months to fully recover from the injuries he sustained?
... or how he had to actually avoid being shot with heavy caliber firearms?
... or when his skeleton was LACED with adamantium, not entirely made of (or perhaps just coated) with the stuff?
... or that once upon a time, he could actually die from a slit throat because he'd bleed out too fast for his healing factor to compensate?
Does anyone miss that character?
I do.

That's why I just read Claremont and Miller's Wolverine over and over again.

X-Men 3 was just on tv. I was, as ever, incredulous to see Wolverine, the
leader of the X-men, giving pep talks, etc.. Unbelievable...

They took a fascinating character and ruined him by revealing far too much information and making him far too powerful.

Wolverine with a mysterious past and an enhanced (not instantaneous) healing factor was a great character. Instances over the past few years of him healing in moments from major wounds have just gotten worse. Regenerating from a drop of blood (against Nitro) showed how bad this has become. If that were possible, wouldn't every drop of his blood produce a new Wolverine? Anyhow, I agree with Greg on this and wish for that character back.

So did the drop of blood also regenerate the adamantium, which can only be created by mixing "Resin X" with "Resin Y"?

If I'm not mistaken, Wolverine's skeleton was originally comprised *entirely*
of adamantium -- the "laced" part was one of the later additions that
damaged the character and his original concept.

I do miss that character.
He used to be in Ultimate X-Men (though a bit too hunky, the personality and power level was right), but he's not there either anymore (though Robert Kirkman destroyed everyone in that book).

Not sure why it double-posted. Sorry.

I miss the Wolverine that was a mystery--with a definite sense of danger
about him.

As I recall all that was left was a metallic skeleton with a drop of blood.
