Has anyone checked on the official stance of those in charge on swipes...Is it tacit approval that they continue to allow it.  Should artist caught doing it face some form of reprimand?  What's the deal?

an homage would be an imitation of Kirby's unmistakable style.  An exact duplication is a swipe...

I don't know maybe you're right.  Shrug.

I think it'd be considered a homage if there was a 'after Jack Kirby' note anywhere on the artwork in question...

I've seen that letter before and I find it odd as this policy does not seem to have been enforced.

Looks like a lot of heads are looking the other way in regards to that letter.

Just like the policy that monthly comics are monthly.

Actually, I have a feeling that the above policy was enforced for the Mack Avengers cover that had to be revised.
I would suspect that marvel is more worried about swiping from Photographers & models then from other comic artists...

You have an industry that can't even get their monthly books out, and you want them to police interior swipes?
never gonna happen!

I think it's just a legal issue, and Marvel doesn't really worry to much about artists who swipe from other Marvel art.

However, they definitely should be concerned when an artist like Mack blatantly swipes from comics put out by competing publishers.

At the very least, if anyone's gonna trout an artist with qualitatives such as: "Award Winning",  "Fine Arts Meets Comics" and "brings his unique creative vision to..." all I ask is that you live up to the hype like a  George Pratt project actually does. Thanks.
