Seems appropriate to me.

---

I think it'll just obscure the debate about swiping, personally.

Thanks, Paulo - I didn't think you were suggesting anything, just a general apology for the JBF!

Could be harder to spot and perhaps easier to get away with, but still worthy of discussion.  Perhaps swipe isn't the term to use, though, in the interests of avoiding confusion.

He is as bad as Fabio LaGuna (1990's "Wolverine" artist) when it comes to swiping.

It's funny how he became infamous for only ever drawing one comic.

I've never even heard of Fabio LaGuna until just now.

The reason I thought to mention it at all was because of Aaron's post at the top of the page. Always struck me as slightly askew that two of the more currently well-regarded comicbook writers had stories that set my "plagiarism-sense" tingling.

He's still working in the biz. He's done some work on the "Highlander" comics.

Fabio did more than just those 2 Wolverine issues. He ended up at Liefeld's Extreme studios for a while and drew some books there as well. I don't remember seeing any swipe submissions come in while he was there, though.

Gee, Mack couldn't possibly be swiping. Don't you remember the widely publicized open letter from Marvel editorial to its freelancers a few years back where they said that blatant, extensive swiping was unethical and grounds for termination?

Yet Mack is still working, and apparently on very cordial terms with JQ.

So he can't be swiping.

Despicable. I guess once in a while is okay or for a reference, but so blatant. Can you be a talented swiper?

"Swiper, no swiping."

"Oh, man."

They even reprinted the issue in a TPB already this week.

I've browsed the issue twice at the shop and it's even worse than the swipes being found, because every swiped face or profile is copy pasted into 4 more panels. There's a splash of one of the figures already shown 2 pages later and it's the same image pasted turned 30 degrees.
