From artwork stolen by Pat Ditton from John Byrne.

"When Mr. Castrillo sat down to produce his "version 2" of the Marvels piece, before he even put pencil to paper, easily more than 95% of the work was already done. Where did that 95% come from? Not from Mr. Ditton. He never paid a dime to anyone for it. It came from Byrne, without his permission, without his knowledge. It's hard it characterize this as anything other than theft. "
Kerr-ect. Ditton should not have commissioned the 5% from MAC. MAC producing the 5% is clearly a service provided.

Then I would like to know, did MAC charge Ditton a deep discount for that service? Or did he charge his full price for the "version 2".

Jesus, a simpler way to "protect" the images is to watermark them. However I fear that even this step would not stop those who really wanted to abuse.

That's no more your business than what price JB would have charged Ditton
if he'd accepted the original in the first place.

Why would he not, has he put less lines on the page?

OK, I know that JB asked the Forum's opinion on this, and he's gotten it in spades, but don't you all think now that people are getting confused as to who is saying what to whom and things are getting borderline personal, it's time to let it rest with JB, Jim Warden, Pat Ditton and Anthony Castrillo? After 17 pages this is getting ridiculous.

By the way, I'm still waiting for the praise warranted by my Solomonic

""That's like getting pinched for shop lifting and then saying you will pay for the item...now that you have been caught."
(Ditton) asked to buy the piece bfore he was "caught"
••
Oh? Who did he "ask"? "
I was under the impression that he asked Jim a while ago whether the piece was still available as he wanted to purchase it.
