Working in comics is often a case of being handed a crate of lemons and told to make lemonade. Unfortunately, it is also often a case of being handed a crate of grapefruit and told to make lemonade!

Not the best character ever -- admittedly, but I thought Dazzler had great potential and your teams handling of her on X-Men showed that (at least to me) in some part.  I didn't care for the disco angle, but I did like that she was a singer and a mutant.  In her own book, I always thought that her music career should've been the focus behind her and her struggles instead of trying to turn her into an actress later in her mythology.  It's funny, but I think Dazzler as a character would work better today.  Picture it, Hollywood 2009 a young pretty girl walks into an audition and belts out a tune and glistens with light and such.  A judge named Simon smiles and says, "Absolutely Fantastic!"

I am thrilled to see JB tackle another less well known character in this format.  It really is amazing seeing the number of characters now covered by John.  It is a who's who in comics

JR Jr.'s work on Dazzler 1 and 2 as inked by Alfredo Alcala are actually my favorite Romita Jr. art issues.  I like it a lot.

Makes me wonder - is Alcala's inking THAT much different, or can JR Jr. just draw that well (realistic) when he wants to?

John Buscema didn't like Alcala's inks at all. Personally, I love his art.
Didn't care for Ernie Chan, though.

Well, it has happened again.  This commission made me so curious about the character that I went to my LCS and picked up some back issues.  Now who owes who money?
