I must admit to having enjoyed the Dazzler's early appearances in X-Men,
Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four, as well as the first five or six issues of her
title.

Nice picture, indeed!

Fun piece. It makes me want to wear a polyester jump suit and play my Saturday Night Fever 8-Track.

So, knowing of, but nothing about, the character, is she loosely based on anyone from the '70's?  I could imagine a modern day equivelant being Jessica Simpson or the like.

She was not specifically based on anyone, but after Bo Derek expressed an interest in buying an option, Dazzler was retro-tooled to resemble her.

Wow!! Awesome!! I've not seen her in years.

Today she will have the same age as Madonna, won't she?

Holy flashback! Very nice, JB. Did you leave the rollerskates out on purpose?

I always found it interesting that the Dazzler converts sound to light. The premise being that as a Disco singer she would have a plethora of fuel/energy. But doesn't it sort of kill your career as a singer if no one can hear you?

My older sisters both read People magazine back then and I remember a cover story about Bo and John Derek. The photo on the cover showed them walking through an airport and John was carrying a copy of "The Superhero Women". This would have been 1978 or so. JB, do you draw the Dazzler with Bo in mind?

I have no idea! I had no part in designing the character.

***

Who did design the character?

I had assumed you did, since (as far as I know, but I could be wrong) she first appeared during your X-Men run. Apparently, I assumed erroneoulsy.

I have no knowledge of the character, but I know fun when I see it, and this is FUN!!!!  And LOVE the signature.  You've incorporated it in so many cool ways now, nd I never get tired of it.
