I was sure it was Buscema's, as it seemed consistent with his reported dislike of drawing superheroes.  Seemed like an attempt to give him a more Conan-like character to draw.

Sorry Jeff, I don't see the H-bra as indicative of Buscema's lack of interest in superheroes, even if he had been responsible for it, or a Conanization of Herc.

I didn't really dig Herc until he got rid of the funky man panty-hose and skirt. I know it was a Kirby design, and when drawn by Kirby it was awesome. Others, not so much.

Anyway, even if John Buscema had been assigned the task of coming up with a new Hercules look, I know he'd have done something cool...it's neat to think about. Does he go for more a "superhero" look, or the classic Greek?

As did I, Jeff!  "I Flew with Superman" was the name of it, if I recall correctly.  This issue also had a fun Superman/Batman team-up drawn by Alex Toth in which Luthor escapes by turning Superman into a Luthor lookalike, while he goes free disguised as his own do-gooder twin brother... With the Toth artwork, it comes across much better than it sounds... :-)
