I was already looking foward to Citizen Zero, but an early glimpse (or two) is always appreciated.

Thanks, JB!

"HANDSOME STRANGER" ???

••

Note to myself. A mnemonic to remind me, when I script this page, what I
wanted Liz to be saying.

Nice pencils, JB. i do prefer when you 'spot the blacks' though-- gives a
better sense of depth to the figures to me. Still, i'm always impressed with
the way you layout a page.

"I was named after my father -- Handsome Stranger."

A big cookie for the first person to place that quote. (Actually, it's a
paraphrase.)

I have a question about lettering on boards vs. lettering on computer.  Specifically, why does it matter in terms of how much you pencil and ink?  I understand that when you letter on the boards, you need to leave a white space for the word balloon where Liz says "Now let's find out what this handsome stranger looks like under all this hair!"  But you need to leave room for that with computer lettering, too -- right?  I understand that it's technically possible (in a way that wasn't really before) to simply plop a word balloon over inked art.  But it's also technically possible to plop that word balloon over the same white space you would have left in the days of board-lettering.

So is there a reason not to leave the same white spaces you would have in the old days?

The Villian. (Or "Cactus Jack" as it was called when I saw it here on TV in
Canada) 1979. Arnold Schwarzenegger played Handsome Stranger.

Holy crap, I haven't seen or thought of "The Villain" since I was about 8 years old.
