"by the way, Wayne...didn't you use to have a dwarf drawn by JB as your
avatar?. Related?"
That's his brother, Bob.
And, yes, guys - as you might have read in that interview, I'm "playing
with" all the things I really loved as a kid. And mythology and
Harryhausen played a huge part in my childhood. I'm just happy that it
seems to be striking a bit of a chord with some other folks here too.
And the page after, combined with this one, got me a little misty
eyed.......

I love this comic and I haven't even read an issue yet. It's a big, beautiful melting pot of fun and adventure. So looking forward to buying the first issue.

Instantly reminded me of the old Sinbad movies.

Wow!
I'd missed this thread entirely and stumbled on it while looking for another thread that I was kindly going to link for somebody in yet another thread.
And this beautiful mythological image from a man who keeps saying he couldn't get the right scope for Thor!?!? Humbug, I say. Apart from Lee/Kirby or Simonson, I'd say JB's THE guy I'd love to see handle Thor for a while.

Not what I said. I said I don't think my work is BIG enough for Thor --
meaning the work itself, the power of my penciling. I don't think I can
sustain the 125% that's needed.

Sorry if I misquoted you somewhat, JB, but I maintain that I think you're definitely selling yourself and the power of your pencilling short when it comes to the Asgardian. From all I've seen of your tackling the character in other series and Kirby's Fourth World gods, it seems to my humble eye that your pencil work is BIG enough for just about any kind of god/myth related stories. Just a sincere and humble opinion here, mind you.

WOW-- that's an awesome scene, JB!!! You really do mythic characters
well. THOR would be just fine in your hands. Heck, you handle ALL
of Kirby's creations quite nicely.
