I feel that the most helpful attitude to the recent Spiderman reboot is to just accept that there has been a reboot and take all of the now non-existant stories that came out of M***** lately to include the OMD story line. This really bad story in which a hero sells out to Mephisto is now one of the stories that does not exist as far as I am concerned. It is just a shame that it took so long in getting this often delayed piece of nothing out into the world.
The thing with a reboot is when as a reader you decide when to accept the new "reality" and what to dismiss as written off story lines. A good reboot will flow from the old context into the new but badly written ones such as this should be ignored as part of the history that the powers that be are trying to rid themselves of. A good creative team will go forward with the new timeline and never refer back to the now dismissed past (unless it it is YET another Crisis).
On the subject of the unmasking of Peter and the Other and the other stuff that is now a non event, it was obvious to all that this was going to require a major reboot it was just a case of when and how. They could have run with it for a little while longer and there could have been a few decent stories to be had from it but now we will never know.
It would appear that the big Civil War thing was another major balls up as well. I read in the latest Captain America where Bucky takes over from Steve Rogers him saying to Iron Man that he is answerable to no one if he takes on the mantle of Cap. OK says Iron Man making the whole Civil War event and the killing off of Steve Rogers totally pointless. I think I will start another thread on this subject.

That's pretty cool. I've always hated the new logo. That's not to say I have any interest in picking up the comic (despite the fact that "It Starts Here!").

If they couldn't make Spider-Man good on their own rules, what makes you thinkg they'll get him right all of a sudden with a reboot? A worthless editor is just worthless.

Whatever, they're all mini Joe Quesadas. What Marvel title has it's own distinctive tone and feel? None. It's all the same pseudo macho crap. They might as well add a golden medalion with chest hair on all their covers and retitle Marvel into Gino Camaro Comics.
