My first instinct for favorite male superhero costume would be Spider-Man, since I am partial to the fact that the mask doesn't show any of his face. It's simplicity is its power for me.

But Batman's costume has been thought out and presented in both unrealistic and more believable versions. I like the practical functionality of it while it's also stylized to present the right appearance.

One thing I love about Superman's costume is that it evokes a reaction in real life.

As to a female superhero costume, I'm torn between scant, such as Wonder Woman's, or a tight body-stocking, like Batgirl or Power Girl. But I wonder is it the costume I like, or the character wearing it?

It really comes down to looks and practicality, and for me, what is most aesthetically pleasing is not always my favorite for multi-functionality.

Superman is my clear choice for male costume.  I'm having a really hard time with a woman, though ... many of the good ones are just variations on male costumes.  I guess I'll agree with JB and pick Black Canary.

Sean Hollenhors:  Captain Marvel (M***** version)

Not to nitpick, but wouldn't it be okay to actually spell out Marvel in this instance, considering this costume was from a time period other than now?

Sasquatch's !!! No, just kidding ! It's the Submariner 's ! No, another joke ...

Batman is the coolest, especially due to the cape effect.

As for the female, I would say Phoenix : I like the long boots, the long gloves, the green and golden colors, it's great !

Original Batman costume with the ears that stick out to the side in addition to going up.

Zatanna. The one with the fishnets, not the JLA costume from the 80s.

Male: I can't just pick one. Overall, I think the X-Factor book's consistantly had the best male costumes.

Female: Monet's costume in Gen X 63, she was wearing some sort of gown and sandals, I can't find a good pic. They all wore those costumes for only 2 issues because a bunch of nerds on the Warren Ellis message boards who dress at Zellers whined against them. Lamest example of pandering ever.
