I'm in the minority, but I really liked the experiment with Flexographic colors. But above you can see one of the problems that seemed to plague it - color bleeding. Check out the blue background bleeding into Courtney/Guardian's helmet in the second panel on the firt version of the scan. And here I thought color errors were carried over in every edition - the second scan doesn't show it as much.

We'll be seeing more once Ryan gets to covering #20 - the first flexographic issue.

Oh, and Jeffries was another cool character that JB created as someone "less than ideal" in the visual department, but ended up becoming much "prettier" by subsequent artists.

I always wondered if JB named him after a certain starship designer...

Hmmmmn, when I get a Bentley, must remember to post to the board and ask if anyone has an image of a Bently so I can follow it up with "Ahhh, it's just I own this model of car!" Grrrrr...j.e.a.l.o.u.s! ;-)

Reminds me of the old work gloat. Employe 1: "Anyone on holiday tomorrow?" Other employees: "No!", Employee 1: "Must just be me then!"

Congratulations Joe, you just made it into my AFOAD also known as the
Alpha Flight Original Art Database. Still a LOT of holes to fill in.

This was a brilliant sequence:
= characters just talking, but you get loads of background on them and
their relationships/interactions;
= character casually using his powers, so you know exactly what he does,
and how easy it is for him;
= cool robot design

And unfortunately, a few years before I had had a similar idea: a person who
wants revenge transforms a red car ('57 Chevy) into a humanoid to beat up
those he is hates. Tossed that one out when I read this.
