This one was definitely different, must have been Assistant Editors Month (!!).  Okay...  Several pages of no art, just words.  I'm looking forward to reading any stories you have behind this and how it got past Shooter, JB.

Also, is there a story behind the different titles Shooter had during this time?  Last issue it was "American", this time "Guiding Light".  Were those your idea and did he find them funny?

This is one of the issues that i did not read until getting the AFClassics TPB. It's interesting to read a issue without art. I can't imagine the response of the fans about it, at that time...

Everyone was really outraged over here and said it was a rip-off. I was a little frustrated for not getting my usual dose of byrne but I found it was quite funny and clever at the time, even if I was a mere 14 or 15 year old guy then.

I think JB posted once before that he was paid his regular page rate for all those blank pages.
