Honestly, it just came to me with the discussion about the wet suit. I probably should not have mentioned that I always think about this.
Aesthetically, doesn't the free-flowing hair suggest more vitality and youthful energy? Not to insult the follically challenged on the forum, of course. Superman without his hair flowing while flying just would not be the same.

<<While I like some costumes more than others, they could put him in a tuxedo and I'd be happy if they wrote him in character again.>>
Same here about the costumes. The exposed hair didn't particularly bother me either. But I'm not going to be happy with writing him better from this moment better. Too much damage has been done. They want me back there is going to have to be some major retconning.

The only thing I don't like about Cyclops' current suit is that gray visor. It should be gold to match his suit's piping and the cuffs on his gloves and boots.

Now that IS Cyclops!
It seems like the character faded from existence some time ago, and with one 20-minute drawing Byrne brings him back, just as he always used to be.
It may sound weird, but looking at that drawing makes me miss 'The X-MEN'.
Thanks J.B.
-you defined who these characters ARE by your artwork and everyone here knows it!-

What, kind of like he did on his first run?

When I was a kid, Cyclops was my favourite X-Man and I hated what happened to him over the years. I got tired of the character after the whole marriage fiasco and then I just lost interest. The X-Men movies pissed me off with the way they dealt with the leader of the X-Men. It would be great if they brought the character back to his former glory.

When I was a kid, Cyclops was my favourite X-Man and I hated what happened to him over the years.•• Remember when Scott was the cool one? Before the changing audience decided it was o-so-uncool to possess the kinds of qualities he was known for -- decency, honesty, quiet nobility. . .

Damn, if Whedon comes back to Astonishing X-Men after Ellis and needs an artist...••• If it's true his "contribution" to the first X-Movie was Wolverine's "You're a dick" line to Cyclops, he can look elsewhere. Top marks for BUFFY and ANGEL. Minus several million for that one.
