Colossus never gets respect man... he should easily be in 2. And Iron Man should be dropped to 2, he gets to do all kinds of neat things with his armor, isn't it a bit unfair to give him top strength too?

When the Marvel Handbooks first came out, Colossus was still a teenager. Since a few years have passed, perhaps he has progressed in strength.

Does the way Dr. Doom has gone up against others count or is that a technical strength?

I read somewhere that now Colossus was recently upgraded to a Class 100. It's the same level as Hercules, Thor, Abomination,... and stronger than Wonderman, Thing, Namor,...

The issue where Spidey fought Luke Cage flat out say he is stronger. But Cage made up for it by being able to take more punishment.

I think it might be useful to visualize what the categories mean in terms of strength.  Kind of like:

Class 1) Lifting Mountains
Class 2) Lifting Battleships
Class 3) Lifting Tanks
Class 4) Lifting Cars
Class 5) Lifting... Fat guys?

I think I'm a class 7 on this scale.

Hate to be a bugger but, doesn't Iron Man come down to which armor he's in the mood for?

Well to rip 1/2 inch thick mild steel the Hulk needs to be able to create a tension of at least 92,000 Lb.s per square inch or 46 imperial tons. Rebar is quite a bit stonger.

Hope that helps. :)

 QUOTE:
Brian, I think there was a category above 'Unearthly' to cover guys such as Eternity and Galactus. Don't know what it would be called though.

I think the upper levels were Class 1000, 3000, and 5000.  After that was Beyond, for the Beyonder.

He should still be one now...

I don't like it when the companies quantifya character's strength with exact numbers, especially when those numbers conflict with stories.

See, I'm just the opposite, Wallace.  I like a set standard for power levels that remains consistent throughout every writer's story arcs.  I think stories are made by testing limits rather than by changing power levels as needed.

Edit: Post #500!!

Spider-mas has a lot of other powers to rely on, in fact he hardly ever relies on his strenght to win a fight...

Spider-mas is my favorite holiday.

It comes right after Wolvereve.
