This one is bittersweet.
Early this year, Michael Netzer partially completed five recreations of classic Marvel covers, for the purpose of allowing Gene Colan to finish the last main figure and tie it together. He was able to finish at least two of them that I am aware of. I made arrangements with his friend and agent, Cliff Meth, to purchase this piece just two days before Gene passed. At the time I was completely unknowing just how dire the state of his health was....
I am honored to add this to my collection.

Windfall by Thom Zahler:
A holdover from Baltimore Comicon because Zahler does coloring on his computer. Speaking of which:
(The flip is from pressing the wrong button when editing the picture for posting and not realizing it until now. :-) )

Art from the 2nd annual Cincinnati Comic Expo! First up, Orion by Chris Sprouse:

My scanner did NOT like the size of this paper so it's cut off just a tad and you can't see his signature.

Jughead by long-time ARCHIE artist Stan Goldberg:

While he was sketching this I asked what his most requested character was for a sketch. I'm not sure he really gave me a straight answer but he went into a very in depth soliloquy about the Jughead character and how he is such a great friend to Archie, hence the "A Good Friend" line. Very interesting!

I had two ideas for Katie Cook and she came through brilliantly on both of them! It's amazing, these water color "doodles" fall out of her brush in seconds!
First up, my cat Cocoa chewing on a cardboard box (a hobby of hers):

And last is the most impressive piece from the show, Darkseid by our own Andy Bennett!

I was very impressed watching the process that went into this. The inclusion of Apokolips in the corner was an unexpected surprise and really makes the piece!
