I picked this commission up from Ariel Olivetti. I'm still trying to figure out the process for this piece.

This is my last and favorite pick-up from Chicago. I get a kick out of Tom Scioli and his love for all things 70's Kirby. This seemed like a natural fit for him.

Again, some cool stuff there, Paul! I love them. Darksied looks cool as heck.

Man, I need to open a Subway Shop.

Fantastic pieces from Chicago, Paul!  I'm particularly impressed by Jim Cheung's Storm, but they're all great.

I've been fortunate to pick up a number of great pieces of original art by Paul Smith over the years, but his covers have always been out of reach.  So, I was thrilled to commission inker Bob Wiacek to do recreations of three of my favorite covers.  Here's a scan of #168 and you can check out #166 and 175 on my blog or as soon as I upload them to my Comic Art Fans gallery.

Paul also got a page from 100 Bullets... and he gave it to ME!!!!!

heh.

Paul... that Olivetti is white pencil and digital. Darby's art had a fade on the bottom. How do you do that without Photoshop?!?!?! It's still very sweet! Bring it over and we'll take my electric eraser to it...

Did Tom do that at the show? I keep getting quicker pencil sketches from him... I need a better Scioli.

And, again, that Dave Johnson ... those lines in his face. I'm in love with those lines.

Dave, Tom did that at the con.

I still want to stay in denial that Olivetti's piece is mostly digital. But you are correct. It's a mix of white pencil over a digital print out.

James, very cool recreation. "Professor Xavier is a jerk!" I have fond memories of that issue.

Just don't tell Fred...

Cool stuff, James! I saw the Kindt art you got at SDCC. Matt's such a nice guy, and his books are fantastic!

Paul - That Scioli is just fantastic.  I really like the Olivetti but would like to hear from him how he does them.
