I did Motor City Con for one day (Friday, which was pretty quiet, pre-Carrie Fisher.)

I figured I'd get one sketch per book max and that's exactly what I got -- so, in that regard, it was a great show!

(I apologize for the digital picture quality.  Obviously, the art is clear and crisp, I was just too lazy to fiddle around with the lights to get brighter images and scanner's fried.)

Supergirl by Todd Nauck:

Todd sketches as you wait and me and my buddy ended up spending about 2 hours talking to him -- a complete pleasure!

Puff Adder by Adam Withers:

Adam and his wife Comfort Love do the indie book The Uniques which I enjoy.  My goal for this year in my villain sketch book is to get The Serpent Society, one of my favorite villain stables.  Love this sketch and I always love getting sketches of obscure characters.

Jason Voorhees by Mike Wolfer:

This picture is REALLY dark -- I didn't get the impression Mike does a lot of con sketching but he did oblige me this great (and grotesque) Jason sketch.  In person it's got a lot of great, nasty detail.

Motor City was fun, especially as a one day thing on the back end of what was a pretty long week.  I chatted with wrestlers The Honkytonk Man and Kevin Nash and finally got to chat one of my long-time crushes in Kristy Swanson, who was really quite nice.  Obviously, most of the guys were getting her Playboy and Maxim covers signed so she seemed happy that I wanted to talk about 'Deadly Friend.'

John-- Looks like you went to town and had a great show!

Also, the Serpent Society is very awesome!

Taking my first digital camera for a spin...  And not doing well at all...  Apologies for the crappy photo, since the actual page looks 100% better than this!

Edit:  Replaced original uploaded photo with a somewhat better one.

Not "new artwork" any means, but I'd thought it appropriate share none the less.

As I mentioned in my introductory post, some years back I had to sell most of my art.  Aside from a small handful of single sketches, this was the one page I couldn't bear to part with.  Jim Starlin Doctor Strange ....

If there is interest, I can share the other pieces I have, although none of them are new (except maybe to you guys.  :) )

****

"New" doesn't have to be newly acquired, just something new to share!  Share away, Steve!

Bill that's a heck of an Alpha Flight page!  I think you need to give your digital camera more credit.

John, nice pick-ups at Motor City. I really like the Mike Wolfer Jason.

Bill, that Alpha Flight page is off the grail charts. Thanks for sharing and feel free to share the other art in your collection.

Thanks for the comments guys!   I need to play around with my camera more before posting more pages.

Edit:  Removed query for a walkthough link...  Found some tips on my Photoshop clone's forum.

Just ordered…

11x15 inches. My second piece from the same story, "Project Nimbus", the
other being by Frank Bellamy, and one of the first pieces of original art I
acquired, way back when. The gallery I bought this from credits only Don
Harley as the artist, but the original credits included Bruce Cornwall.

(Note the insignia on the topside of the rockets in the first panel -- that
pre-STAR TREK arrowhead again!)
