NYCC 09: I have wanted an original piece of art from Eric Powell for some time now. Interesting note is that Powell uses pencil for characters in the background. revious to seeing the original pieces, I thought he used a wash. I walked away with 3 pages in sequential order and couldn't be happier:

NYCC 09: Gabriel Hardman has quickly become one of my new favotire artists. His use of black & whites is amazing to me. His Heathentown graphic novel from Image, written by his wife Corinna, is stunnig and reads like the best of Creepy! I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is curious... and at $10, it is a steal! I have some sketches he did for me at the con coming up soon.

NYCC 09: Easily, the highlight of the weekend for me was talking with Jose Louis Garcia-Lopez, who sat by Kevin Nolan and, like many other legends in the industry, was largely overlooked. I approached him and found myself talking like an overly exhuberant kid, as I thanked him for drawing the DC characters as I remember them from my childhood. He thanked me and did a quick sketch (Which I'll post later). I continued babbling and found this page in his portfolio.... blew me away and I had to have it. I bought it, and went on about how much I loved DC Comics Presents #1.
