Just found the second piece on my work computer and it is up at the gallery now. I am very happy to have been one of the first guys responsibile for bringing Hembeck and Vokes pieces to the attention of the guys here!

Some awesome Vokes art indeed. Love Ari's Batman vs. Scarecrow piece.

If I want to get some Vokes comics material, is there anything anyone in here would recommend as exceptionally good (preferrably both in terms of picture and story!)?

Neil Vokes did a One-Shot for Image a little while ago with Mike Oeming called "Parliament of Justice."  It's a superhero story set in a pseudo-Victorian setting.  It was really good.

So you are taking responsibility for my having that thick Hembeck book lying around over here now, Fred.  ;)

Oops, sorry. Feel free to mail it to me to get it out of the way.

As far as Vokes specialties. .... his use of inkwash has lent itself to an especially stunning portrayal of shadows, flames and electrical scenes.... those would be the choices that I'd recommend when getting commissions from him.

Always interesting to see which ones folks like best. Me, I really like the Leonard Kirk drawing...
Ari, I try to make time to scan at night, so I'll see what I can do tonight...
