Gerry-
This is the same problem with modern pages that were inked over blue
prints. Original pencils vs. printed image. Very subjective.
I don't know how is the market of Conan pages of the BWS age, but the
price could be too high for me if we're talking only about the inked half.
This brings me another question. Why he owns this original? When the
page has the pencils and the inks in different sheets, it's clear where they
have to be returned.
Why they returned a share of the inked pages to BWS? If they lost his part,
is bad luck for him, and it's not Buscema's fault. Ok, it's a solidarity
matter. But what BWS would think if they would lose inker's part? Would
BWS give a share of his penciled pages? I don't think so...

Great Doom Patrol pages, Joe.
Gerry, I think the price on that Buscema inked page is too high. It is just like the Kirby pages that are inked by Greg Theakston on overlay. They are the published work, but Kirby's pencils are not to be found on the page. I'm willing to purchase something like that, but I won't pay "Kirby prices" for them. Nor would I pay BWS prices on this one. If this Conan was a splash page or cover, I could see it needing a higher price tag. But I think this should be priced accordingly to other Sal Buscema panel pages from that time.

Gerry,
Here's the answer to your question. If you were trying to sell that page to a
dealer, would he pay you BWS Conan page money or would he pay you Sal B.
inks money? Don't pay 4g for that page.

If you're digging it and you can toss out the $4,000 for that art, hang it on your wall and look at it with no doubt that you would be happy to shell out that dough for that piece.... do it. If there is a shrad of doubt in your mind, hold off, because I don't think that it is going anywhere soon at that price.

Not in my possession yet (mainly because I keep sending Fred new requests and we'd both prefer to keep postage costs to the minimum...), but fresh off the drawing board and scanner (and to the continuity minded, yes I know):
Close up of the UPC -
(Requires a little bit of fudging on the months, but AF 15 came out in 1962, All-Star #37 in 1947, according to current Marvel continuity Peter was 15 when he got bitten by the spider, and I liked the idea of pregnant Mary better than Peter in a crib, so...)

I got a cool Hulk sketch from Fred in NY. It makes a nice addition to the book and allows a bit more of a personal connection to the 2 commissions that I have from him. Beautiful piece.
