Thanks, Flavio. I like the contrast between the white at the top and the black at the bottom of the page.
Those are Bob Wiacek inks by the way.

I'm crazy, but it's amazing how good the New Gods pages look in black and white compared to the printed versions.

You're not crazy, Martin. The coloring was mostly very disappointing on that series. Whenever I open up the comics to compare with my originals I am dramatically reminded of this!

Nicholas Pitarra. As you can see he's strongly influenced by the likes of Geoff Darrow, Seth Fisher, and Frank Quitely. I saw a piece on CAF that he did as a Geoff Darrow tribute and had to contact him for a DD piece in a similar style. This piece started it's life as DD's radar reaching out into the city. Nick was going to use his crazy Darrowesque style to show the mash of images that DD 'sees' when using his radar. He tried a few times, and then decided to go this route instead. There are 64 figures in the piece. He offered to throw me in there, but I opted out of that, and suggested that he put the two biggest names in the DD world...Gene Colan, and Frank Miller. Can you find 'em?
fyi...there's a bigger version of this in my CAF gallery.

wow
Definitely see the Seth Fisher influence. I had to do a double-take when I
scrolled thru the art.
I miss Seth.

Flavio, this JRjr page is a beauty. This is him at his best : pure and clean storytelling. Simple yet striking pencil art. Gorgeous ink by one of the best
Congrats

Awesome pages, Flavio. Thanks for sharing. I really want to re-read Dreadstar now I can tell you. Now that's a series I'd like to get reprinted in a nice big HC.
