Incredible art from everyone. This has to be one of my favorite threads of the forum.

Also, glad to see everything work out for you Fred.

I wish I had paid attention to the Kubert School site more, I would have picked up a couple of more sketches.

This is a great thread.  Lots of positive vibes with every one getting some cool drawing.  Makes me happy, jealous, but happy.

I would love to see you try your hand at modern shading if only to see you
maybe step out of your comfort zone.

••

I wish I had a "comfort zone"! I do so envy these artists who slide into
a particular style early on an stay there forever. I am so pathologically afraid
of stagnation I am constantly messing with it.

When I say this modern style of shading/rendering is elusive, I mean exactly
that. I have been chasing after it for years. Since the fist time I saw Alan
Davis' work, probably.

Keep "messing with it." It has served you well that way.

Fred - very happy to hear that things are sorting themselves out for you. And huge kudos on Joe Kubert and the Kubert School. A very gracious and professional approach, I'd have to say.

Just got the Kubert book today. I'll post what I've come to refer to as Sgt. Rock MIA first:

...and we have a winner!!! I lucked out with this... even more stunning than the first, albeit lost, piece that Joe Kubert did for me:

After quickly glancing through the huge 200 page Tex book, I'd highly recommend it to any and every Kubert or western fan... stunning art that I'd wager most fans have never even seen before this release! This is the back cover:

Congrats Fred, glad you had your happy ending!
Very nice pieces.  I'm glad I received a character associated with Joe Kubert and I bet you are too!
