You're welcome, Ryan. My eye just got caught on the dates and I realised, hey, that's actuall 25 years between those two. :)

Gerry - that Dr Strange piece is beautiful. Is Alan doing commissions now as the last time I asked (a while ago admittedly) the answer was no.

Excellent Reis page. Wish I could get the hang of that "modern"
shading/modeling. Constantly elusive.

All of these are great. Ryan's Hembecks, Gerry's new Dr. Strange, the Ivan Reis GL page and another gorgeous Kubert.  This is my favorite thread.

though the kubert school is still waiting and crossing their fingers to a reimbursement from ups< joe completed a second sketch over the weekend and the book as well as a xerox copy of the "beautiful" SGT ROCK sketch that was in the original book are being delivered to my buddy"s store today

i"ll post them when i pick them up tomorrow

my respect for joe kubert continues to grow>>>>> kudos to rich at the school for the manner in which he responded to this throughout the entire debacle

Have you tried giving it a shot? A big part is the inks, more light/thinner rendering.
Also a lot of split lighting.

I'm not usually an Alan Davis fan but that's an excellent Dr Strange piece.

Reis is a pretty good artist alright. Nice page.

Thanks for the Reis Kudos! I think it's a terrific looking page as well as being a great part of the storyline.

For JB - I'm happy to hear you think the page. And I would love to see you try your hand at modern shading if only to see you maybe step out of your comfort zone.
