If this piece circulated uncredited on the net,
I wonder what the reaction would be.
There is very little that could be considered "Trademark Byrne"...(apart from being a brilliant piece, that is).

Gorgeous stuff. Fascinating juxtaposition of textures in panel two: the tunnel material versus the lizard skin (Kubert!).
What's the plan? To sollicit the book when ALL issues are in the can? Do members of the JBF get to reserve copies?
I'm asking because, depending on the publisher, my CBS may have difficulty locating it for me.

Jesus, IDW will be the publisher. Their books are distributed by Diamond retailers.

IDW's production value is super high, this should be good.

Very cool, JB, and very cool, Wayne. I still can't believe this is happening.

Art looks amazing and apologies for coming to the party late, but can anyone point me toward the explanation over what this "FX2" is. I assume from the creatures it's not a comic book adaptation of the movie that came out 15 years ago.

Wayne, are you ending up with physical possession of all original art for this?
That'll be in the neighborhood of 120 pages or so, right? Wow. Store them well!

I'll toss in an answer to this since it's actually a business question, and relates directly to the whole process of commissioning something like this. Some hereabouts have expressed shock and horror at the price tag for one of these "custom comics", but when they do so they clearly overlook (or do not know enough details to take into consideration) the sum total of the package. Anyone who buys one of these things -- and I hope there will be more, as they are kinda fun! -- gets the following:
•Minimum 22 pages plus cover, pencils and inks
•All character and costume designs, etc
•Logo design if requested
•Script if so desired, plot input if done "Marvel Style"
•Physical ownership and publishing rights to all the work*
•No further claim on the property by myself
In other words, a package that adds up to slightly more than the asking price (with some monies factored in for a representation of royalties that will not be paid in actuality), and if the buyer takes it to Hollywood and makes a bajillion dollars, s/he doesn't owe me another cent.
*Unless the work contains characters owned by other publishers. If someone asked for, say, Iron Fist meets Batman, for instance. Then, just the physical ownership.
