Yes, a great story I fondly remember. That poor boy was neglected by his parents and everyone around him. They didn't notice his inner pain.

Did you ever offer to "re-do" this issue the way you originally envisioned it? I thought there was a rumour that such an offer was made at one point.
If you wanted to a do a "Director's Cut" -- keeping much of what was published but tweaked to remove the Beyonder would it be possible without much redrawing? (A simple fix you could do, I suppose is draw the Watcher in place of the Beyonder -- though how that would work is not entirely clear to my mind).

I've always loved this issue, it's so powerfull, so human also.
A great moment.
Never knew what was the more sad : the burning of the kid, or his life before, tho.

One of the most verisimilitudinous moments in this very emotional story occurs on page 7, when Tommy peruses a copy of TV Guide. It's so easy to imagine Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous visiting the Baxter Building in 1985* for a tour and interview! And the font and icons are exactly right in the paste-up -- brilliant.
Of course the FF would be saved for the end of the broadcast as "bait" to keep viewers from switching the channel, just as JB has it in the program listing.
His parents being selfish even in this minor instance, Tommy presumably doesn't even get to watch. A fine little moment of sadness in the overall tragedy.
*I realize the Baxter Building had been destroyed, but the show could have been filmed beforehand.
