This is why it only works if one person wants to
commission the whole story. Which is why it ain't
gonna happen.

Here I was thinking that with all the multiple Earths back in the DCU, that it would be cool to have comic books with those versions of the characters.

On the Action, you went more modern, on the Detective it really "could have been drawn in 1939".
***
I think they both captured the right mood equally well.

John, may i ask you, now that we know you've been thinking freely about it, how you would have consider doing this issue ? It appears that you would have drop the comics strip side (one strip each day of the week in the newspaper). Would you still have taken the story in 1939 ? What would you have changed, what's important to keep, and what ballance would you have found between Golden age and modern style ?
And also, if some day a customer ask you to do this, but can only pay one page after another, would you agree this ? Thank-you. David

If Forum members did pay for a double comic, a kind of WORLD'S FINEST with half being Goldern Age Superman and half Batman, it becomes property of DC automatically? Or rather, IS property of DC?
I was going to say JB is paid to produce a comic and it could then actually become a comic book published by DC "for free". But I must be stupid.

The characters and story belong to DC, but the physical artwork belongs to whoever pays for it.Plus, DC has an odd We-Invoke-It-When-We-Feel-Like-It "rule" about not publishing work done "on spec". That's why I had to redo the first issue of the DEMON.
