Alex Ross said in some interview that Batman should have brown eyes…

Very nice Pat!!!  For eyes, I would have to go with the "whites"!  Thanks for sharing.  Best...

The "white eyes" are really part of the mask.  You should not be able to see the real eyes of Batman - they are hidden  and protected.  Not sure when the real eyes started to show in the comics, was it when the first Batman movie came out in 1989 with Keaton?  Adam West's version also showed his real eyes, but I did not think this was ever translated into the comics.

You can find a few covers back in the 90's that showed Batman with real blue eyes, but that was mostly in the close up shots, like the cover to #395.  Best...

One of the strangest superhero drawings I've seen was a Grey Morrow
Spider-Man with the eyes showing. And I don't mean Ditko dots. I mean
the whole white area being open.

Some of the best artists in the world often show, in this strange and not-
so-subtle way, that they just don't get superheroes. It's up there with
the wrinkles and seams in the costumes*. I'm waiting for visible zippers!

*Excepting, obviously, those rare outfits that had 'em from the start.

There's that darned insistance on "realism" again.  Same thing that keeps Hollywood from getting the suits right, IMHO.

I was going through boxes in my basement and found these. Anybody know what they are. They are about the size of a star wars action figure.

Matthew, they look like Micronauts to me, but it would be a guess.  That one on the end with the red torso seems familiar.

Maybe Disney Black Hole if not Micronauts.

I found my answer at Bugeyedmonster.com. They are apparently called Metal-Man.

Thanks for the replies anyway.
