The Flash from 2007.

••

Unless he's supposed to be skidding to a stop -- which his body language
does not suggest at all -- why would there be dust/smoke/whatever flying
up from his forward foot?

JB, maybe it's water under the Flash? And if it is, then it really doesn't look good.

The Flash looks like he's running backwards.

Nice T.H.U.N.D.E.R. statues, but in typical DC Direct fashion, you'll never get a complete set of the main characters.Good ol' DC Direct...

Oh, and why they don't hire decent product designers is beyond me. They seem to believe that being a well-known coomic book artist automatically makes you a good statue designer. Or that a fairly well known comic cover automatically makes the best statue...
Are they lazy, over-worked, or just happy with mediocrity?

Re: The Flash from 2007

My take is that they are trying to make it look like he is breaking the sound barrier or something (along this lines, but still the 'shock wave' looks wrong, being way too much in front of him)

That Flash is from the Cover to Cover line of statues. Can you believe it's supposed to look like Brian Bolland's work? Me neither - especially the way it looks in real life. I ordered it, and the only thing about it that truly impresses me is that it happens to be in scale with my Smiley Bone In Cow Suit statue from Bowen.

Thus, Smiley is beating the Flash in a race on my bookshelf - the humour of which far outweighs any desire I once had of getting rid of the Flash statue.
