I think with the DCUniverse line, Mattel is trying to split the difference and get both the 'mini-statue' collectors who go for the DC Direct stuff, and actual kids who want to play with the toys, hence the articulation. ******************** I grew up with Star Wars and G.I. Joe figures, minimal articulation on one hand and what I still feel was just the right amount on the other. I have purchased recent Star Wars figures for my son as well the new Marvel Universe Captain America figure, and they are all delicate little pieces of crap. Hands coming out at the wrist, weak knee and ankle joints, very weak torso connections (the figures just flop over). For the same price, I'd say get rid of a few of the moving connections and make figures that can live up to being played with more than a few times. The casual and serious collectors would probably be fine without being able to get extreme poses out of 99% of the collection (Spider-Man being an obvious exception) if it meant their figures weren't going to collapse at random joints.
