Lars - I don't think Randy is a fan of that color scheme, but he is a BIG fan of John's work. I know that he has asked about the FF in the past few months. I believe that he was looking for everyones' suggestions. JB's stuff seemed to be the way folks want the FF!

That's like $200 worth of 'Blackest Night' branded action figures. If I had that kind of money to spend on merchandise, I'd put it on stuff I enjoy rather than a storyline I haven't even read yet.

A while back Randy asked me if I could design a non-action "family" grouping for the FF, and I doodled this up for him.
Unfortunately it costed out as impractical to sculpt. Ah, well!

DCDirect Blackest Night assortment:
-------------------------------
STILL no Dex-Star? Come on!
re: the Blackest Night pictures ... Aquaman is dead?
-------------------------------
Yeah, they killed him off after Busiek turned him into a squid mutant to serve as mentor to his son who took over as Aquaman. Kind of a mercy killing at that point. Its pretty much been spoiled that they're using Blackest Night to bring him back and then he's getting a 'Rebirth' mini.
The Latest Idea from the Decline of Superstars -- rip off Marvel Zombies!
--------------------------------
To be fair, they are using this to revamp/push Black Hand as a villain, and I have a soft spot for bringing back old classic villains. Also, supposedly this is going to give an 'in story' explanation for why death has been a revolving door recently in the DCU, and put an end to it (yeah right on the last part).
I'd put it on stuff I enjoy rather than a storyline I haven't even read yet.
----------------------------------
Yeah, my only real interest would be the John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Arisia and Star Sapphire figures, since they look like decent sculpts of characters I already like.
Oh, and if they make a Dex-Star, I'm buying two.

Man! That FF sketch would have made an AWESOME statue!!!
To hell with the price point, I know I would have paid a hefty price for it.

I'm all in for the Blackest Night stuff. Larfleeze, Kyle, another Star Sapphire, Atrocitus, John, Kryb, Saint Walker, man it's all good!
The way I see it, anyway, is guys like Aquaman and Superman-2 can face off against my figures of their "real" selves, like Evil Dopplegangers. That way, I don't have to think about the Marvel Zombie angle, and I can think instead about the Infinity War angle.

Could that FF statue worked as a series?
Ben standing reading a paper is a fine statue on its own, with little flame effects on the corner.
Johnny standing hands behind his back with a little fire coming off of them it alright as a solo piece.
Reed working on anything is pretty much in character.
Sue would even look alight in that finger pointing pose without the gizmo in Reed's hand to "explain" it.
So, put 'em all out on their own, and build the diorama with connecting bases. How's that not cost effective?
