What's that saying about "the second you start giving the fans what they think they want..."?  I think he had it right the first time and then fan voting made him change it.

How are you defining "comic accurate"? The black is accurate in terms of
intent. Plus it just looks better. A statue of Superman with blue hair might
match what's on the page, but I wouldn't call it accurate.

Someone should start a petition to have the Bowen statues painted with little
halftone dots so they'll be more comic accurate.
