As a comics fan I always thought Ghost Rider was a cool looking character. But that was about all he had going for him, IMO.

When did all the extra Iron Man suits start? I think I have
an old Marvel Fanfare with a pic of him in front of dozens
of suits.

JB:Ghost Rider is fun to draw, but I don't find much in the actual character that interests me.
************************************************************ ****************************
Did you ever read Roger Stern's all too brief run? He took a pretty boring character and made him interesting and made the book an exciting read!
I flipped through your fill-in issue of Ghost Rider last night (#20, I believe), and you DEFINITELY drew him as if his leathers were black.
I always found it interesting that you drew him with eyes. You could always tell it was a JB Ghost Rider!

Speaking of Ghost Rider, I just picked up some issues of the Champions at Wizard World Philly & I LOVE JB's take on Ghost Rider in them!

JB, in regards to the blue = black in comics, what's your opinion on the SPIRIT's blue outfit? Do you think Eisner was saying it was really black as put forth by Miller for the film?

Well his head did eventually turn into the actual skull.

Yeah, I know. In fact, I suggested it, lo these many years ago. But has he
actually been seen all decked out in the Nazi regalia since?

I think it is an insult to Eisner's memory to suggest that an artist who was
such an absolute master of light and shadow would have put the Spirit in a
blue suit if he meant it to be anything other than a blue suit!
(Frank's color blindness, we should note, apparently extends to thinking
Eisner drew the Spirit in a white shirt that was meant to be a black shirt.)

Thanks for that!
I have a friend who isn't into comics at all but enjoys the comic films and comes to me for explanation/elaboration on the characters and storylines and gets my opinion on how well the film translated the source material. I threw up my hands on the SPIRIT movie and told her I wasn't going to see it because it would just make me crazy. I started out with the blue/black controversy as an example of how wrong it was. And she reminded me of how I had explained that Batman was supposed to be in black but the coloring couldn't support it so the blue highlights came to dominate the costume. I told her that for the SPIRIT that was not the case.

Because of JB my already massive Wonder Woman collection is growing, and
in the more expensive direction (statues)... and I'm PEED-OFFED about it!
