As I've said many times before, Jim and Keith are the real talent, All I do is have the ideas, they're the ones that bring them to life. :)

The whole body-builder issue I would have agreed with, and still do, as I think most superheroes look better with less musculature, even the Hulk.

In one case, though, I was smitten by the use of a body-builder in these Joe Jusko paintings of Tarzan

I mean, when you talk about fighting apes and lions bare-handed, and the whole Lord of the Trees thing, I can see the musculature reflecting body mass of a man who performs "superhuman" feats rather regularly.

But... apply internal logic. Body builders get those physiques because they set about deliberately to develop every muscle in their body that can be developed. One of the reasons they were viewed as freaks for so long is that what they turn themselves into is not the natural form of the human body. (Female body builders, especially of late, have taken it to the extreme, and actually defeat the natural lines of the female body.)

So, when we look at someone like Tarzan, we should ask ourselves how he would end up with a build like Arnold. His build should reflect the life he leads, not deliberate "sculpting".

Sean Connery was a Mr. Universe contestant way back in 1950. A big strapping youth, surely, but not remotely what we'd consider modern bodybuilders!

Connery should be a typical superhero model, not Arnold.

Besides being able to speak that's why Johnny Weismuller
will always be a better Tarzan than Miles O'Keeffe.

I need some help guys ... I'm having a Firestorm commission piece made, but I need ideas for a base.

I was thinking of a nuclear cooling tower, but someone metioned that it might end up looking too much like the towers on the Simpson's at that scale ... anyone have any ideas they might wanna share?

And I just had a terrific idea to use the base for a sculpt of Atom too!
