Didn't you know they had implants in Cimmeria, Andy?
(One of the most depressing things in comics today -- young artists who
apparently don't know any better drawing fake boobs. I mean, come
on! A while back someone sent me a link to a page of naked ladies I was
tempted to post here, with the suggestion everyone bookmark it. Lots and
lots of young ladies showing lots of different sizes and shapes in the
balcony, and not an implant in sight. Something artists really, really, really
need to learn.)

Some superhero chicks (or supporting cast) would have fake boobs (in a real world). It would make a funny topic of discussion to figure out which personality types would go "fake" and who would stay "real" --- but not discussion for this thread.

I don't know any women with fake boobs in my "real world", and many of the
women I know are actors.
Fake boobs are, mercifully, not as common as the internet and PLAYBOY
think.

(One of the most depressing things in comics today -- young artists who
apparently don't know any better drawing fake boobs. ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------- Yeah JB, I've actually pretty much given up on expecting comic book artists to get them right. There are plenty who do but it's no surprise to see a very poorly done drawing of the form.
With sculptures/statues though, I'm usually blown away by just how well done they are so it's a bit of a shock to see this one so far off base.
Something else that even the best sculptures tend to miss out on is the various lights and darks of the skin. In the touch-up I did up above for example, the chest is an area with softer, more translucent skin that, at least in the far past, should show a non-perfect tan.
Something that can easily be illustrated by viewing old Boris vs. new Boris.

I guess that's just the difference between East and West coast as well as generations. I would say 1 in 10, possibly even 2 in 10 of the women I know have had implants, some for pure "size" appeal and others just to perk them up a little since age and kids had taken a toll. I work in hospitality (hotels, casinos, etc.) so being "on show" (as in dealing with the public, not stripping) is a large career choice for many of the women I know -- but the general attitude that "it's okay" also extends to the non-hospitality sections of my community, too. I know nurses and teachers, bankers, a few lady cops, lawyers, who have had some sort of enhancement. An ex-girlfriend of mine moved to Los Angeles a few years ago to become an actress, she got new boobs about 6 months later, something she had never considered until being bombarded by acting job rejections because she was "flat chested". I told her, "now you'll get rejected for having big boobs." The wierdest thing is finding out someone had a boob job whom you would never suspect would even care about something like that.
--- but, we digress...please back to statues and toys....

Harsh, Mr. Byrne. While I agree with you concerning comic artists post 1990, Seth is a good guy & an excellent sculptor. Being that literal, and coming from you probably hurt the guy's feelings a bit. You know, folks still value what you say. You are a legend to a lot of folks. Please think about that. That being said, I am in agreement with you, concerning the need for the straight-up, perky nips, with no sign of descension. If you want to see a comic artist, who draws beautiful, natural looking women, check out Terry Moore's "Strangers in Paradise." No one draws the women you could fall in love with better than Terry!
PS: Big battle on my site, concerning Sue Richards. Randy Bowen has hinted at a new FS FF line-up of statues. The majority of folks want a HOT Susan, ala Steve McNiven. I'm sorry, but I still find the hottest Sue to be the one you drew for the issue when Franklin spotaneously grew to adulthood. You were the guy that took the Mom thing, but still made her sexy as all get out. Bravo, Mr. Byrne. Bravo.
:)
