I really don't understand the base of that Wonder Woman statue. Is she flying like a rocket? Is she a genie?

Not criticizing so much as lamenting.
The sculpt itself is amazing, very good likeness to Berjemo's artwork.
I'm just sad that everyone these days needs to put their own stamp on everyting, regardless of if the character's design needs it or not.
Batman doesn't need a costume change.

Isn't that an alternate universe version of Batman?

That Wonder Woman bust is just an utter failure design wise. Like Mike Roberts says above (can I call you Mike?) is she flying like a rocket? Is she a genie? What they hell is that supposed to be?

Reminds me of this new statue with Wonder Woman vs. Ares. Looks great, and I get that Ares is manifesting himself out of the ground, but no matter how many times I see it, it looks like a Wonder Woman Statue fighting an Ares bust. Compared to the Superman/Darkseid statue I got, it's like 3/4 finished!

maybe that Batman Beyond looks exactly like how the costume  would look on a real person.  Most of the figures in that line have had that "real" look to them, if I recall.

Not sure how many JBF members still build plastic model kits, but Moebius Models has been busy (re)producing the classic SF vehicle and Horror figures of the old Aurora line (in many cases complete remakes):

Looking forward to this upcoming kit, since the 39" Seaview was a bit beyond my current budget:

Moebius has also apparently got the license to produce model kits from the recently-ended Battlestar Galactica (supposedly in the same scale as the old Monogram ones), with the first kit due in the latter half of this year.

It's got to be the same kit as their MkIII just adding rivet decals!  The movie suits looked to be pratically the same minus coloring and rivets!

Same kit except with chrome plating and decals...  More like a limited edition type of thing for collectors and completists:

Follow-up:  Moebius confirmed their BSG license at the recent Wonderfest, and the planned order of kits to be done are:  Viper Mk II, Galactica, Raider, Viper Mk VII.

Dear Mr. Byrne -

Sir! We need your help! Randy Bowen just posted this question on my site, www.statuemarvels.com, about an upcoming Captain America mini bust....

 randy bowen;96156 wrote:
...and what type of chain mail should it have?

- every scale?

- or like the minimal "suggested" scales like we've been doing?

Here's my response!....

Do yourself a favor, call your pal, John Byrne, about this one! He will give you the correct answer. And tell him I sent you! The ridiculous plate/feather look to Cap these days is my #1 biggest hatred in comics! I've read Cap since the Tales of Suspense days. The chainmail is suppossed to be a thin layer UNDER his shirt. These modern artists are making Cap look like a moron!

---Lines in the mask!

---A "molded" mask, that makes him look like a bird or something!

---The individual plates/feathers look!

---The "unplated" area around his neck & at the top of his shirt!

---The cumbersome "utility belt"!!!!

Please, Randy...do not be swayed by the madness. A lot of these guys have made Cap look ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. Don't continue the "horror."

Thanks!

Al
