Who made the running Captain America on the previous page?  That is sweet.

The unmasked Dr. Doom should not have been produced.

Why is Spawn dressed up as Dr. Doom?  (Can't believe I actually own a couple of issues of Spawn)

That Dr. Doom bust with his mask on just seems lifeless to me...

JB, one thing I really liked about you drawing Dr.Doom is that you were able to convey his emotions with the mask on...  The eyes, the gestures, even body language with just the way he tilted his head.  Not so in this case.

Doesn't help that the mask looks like he's pressing his mouth against a pane
of glass and blowing his cheeks out!!

Good call JB! I knew it looked ridiculous for a reason, and that pin-pointed a pretty big one.

It's too bad, but I've really yet to see a Dr. Doom Bust that I like because usually the mask is screwed up in some fashion that makes it look... off.

THIS ONE, by Bowen, is pretty good, but unfortunately gets the hood wrong. That seems to be the mistake too many cannot avoid -- not enough bulk in the hood. Even I -- Yes! My God! Even /!!! -- got that wrong the first few times.

New offerings from DC Direct scheduled for Jan. '010,

This Batman B&W troubles me because it appears that DC really doesn't care about keeping their icons on model anymore. I hoped that this line would showcase different artist's takes on Batman in his ACTUAL uniform. Big sigh.

--the HELL?!?
Blammoids.

..and for the expensive 13 inch line, this Batman Beyond is WAY not how he is supposed to look.

Are you criticizing DC Direct or DC Comics? Because ugly as that Batman costume is, it's on model to the Lee Berjemo art it is based on.
