The face on that Captain Kirk statue looks more like Kiefer Sutherland's than William Shatner's to me.

Everyone that knows me, knows about crazy devotion for certain artists that I've loved since my youth ... Jack Kirby, Mike Grell, Gil Kane, Neal Adams, Jim Aparo, George Perez, John Byrne (I think that one goes without saying) ... but none of these loves rivals my love of everything Dave Cockrum. Dave was a pioneer of design in comics, lots of his original designs (or variations of them) are still used to this day.
This piece is the first in a line that will be a tribute to this man that was a legend. I'll never be able to thank Jim Maddox enough for bringing this piece to life for me. This was supposed to have been a simple conversion, but Jim knew that this was a grail piece for me, so he blew it out of the water as only he could.
I hope that somewhere Dave is looking down and smiling. :)
