Has Bowen EVER made a bad statue/bust? I can't think on any...

****************************

Plenty ... just off the top of my head.

Black Widow (bust and statue) ... too cartoony
Spider Woman (Julia Carpenter) ... have you checked out the head on this one?
Sasquatch ... lousy representation of the character, no smile, scales off, no arms
Storm (mini bust) ... WAY off scale, the sculpt is just poor
Black Cat (bust) ... just a horrid representation
Juggernaut (bust) cut off is terrible
Hawkeye .. looks like Jeff Probst in a purple mask
Rawhide Kid ... Randy should have left Willam's original face alone
Fantastic Four Mini Bust set ... the whole thing was just badly done.
Dr. Strange ... nice but could have been better.
Doc Sampson ... same thing.
Attuma ... can only be displayed on a top shelf because of the angle of the head, and its most definitely not a top shelf character.
Ghost Rider ... YUCK worst bust ever

These are all of course matters of opinion, I'm sure there are those that will disagree with me.

I agree with "busts of bad characters" -- Bowen's picks have been soooooo starnge sometimes -- and how many Wolverine and Hulk statues do we need?

Excellent sculpts of bad characters is about the only sin of which they are
guilty.

Like, the world was crying out for the Bi-Beast???

Ummm...guilty as charged, though I'd prefer a FS. Mr. Byrne, you have to understand that there are many of us who got into comics in the late 70s, especially after The Incredible Hulk movie pilot aired. The Incredible Hulk comic by Len Wein Sal Buscema and Ernie Chan that was being produced at the time was a magical thrill for many of us young readers back then. The Bi-Beast was a prominient villain in two of those issues. So, of course, many of us are fond of that two headed dope. :)

I'm just happy we have such a high profile producer, like Randy Bowen, catering to fans of the Silver & Bronze Ages. You have to admit, there aren't many folks left in the biz that give a rat's a$$ about the 35-60 demographic. Of course, they're being foolish, because our demographic is the one that can afford $3.99 comics!

Ahhhh...Jesse, Jesse, Jesse...there are so many things I disagree with this post of yours, but the cardinal sin that offends me the most is the misspelling of Leonard Samson's last name. I think the only thing that drives me as close to batty is when folks spell NOVA's alter ego's name as Rich Ryder. Arrgghhhhhh.

Picked this up today.

I'm reserving judgment on all things "new" until I've seen the finished film (in a couple weeks).  I have high expectations.

Though the additions to the design are somewhat moot, I like how it sort of lends itself to the 1701-E design.

Based only on characters I really love, I didn't like the Hawkeye bust much.

Sadly I have to agree. The bust has an overly large nose. Otherwise it looks like a decent 70's Hawkeye. The three Hawkeye statues that have been out out are first rate though. Very glad I have been able to add them to my Hawkeye shrine.

As I said in the original post, there are those that will disagree, and that's fine, my opinions are what they are, just as everyone else's are what they are.

To their credit Bowen has WAY more hits than misses, which is more than can be said about most any other company on the market today.

That doesn't look too bad John, now I'm going to have to look for that to add it to my Enterprise collection.

Odd perspective.

Does the primary hull really slope upwards compared to the engine nacelles?

Yes it does, how odd.

Please bear in mind this is a $30 toy that comes pre-assembled.  It will be interesting to see if the movie version has straight lines to it, ot not.

ummmmm....good eye, Mr JB.
