I joined the Bowen Collector Club for the metallic Captain America Statue.  Now that I have been sucked in, I ordered this Spiderman, basically because the Secert Wars era Spiderman was my favorite period of comics and this statue put me back in that place.   The Silver and Red Iron Man would also be under heavy consideration.  The newsreel Captain America would be one I have to think about.

Nova is a character I am just discovering through the Annhilation Trades.  I think I like this more modern statue

The modern Nova is just really cool to look at and a great pose.

And Annhilation is incredible. I love both series and the spin-offs.

So... now every time Nova raises his arms he stabs himself in the head?

Also, if he squats down he stabs himself in the chest.  Modern Nova looks like Liefeld came up with the attachments.

...

That's why he has to wear the helmet!

I can kinda get behind the modern look in the comics, because an artist can cheat his way out of such problems, but the whole thing just falls apart when you look at it in glorious 3D space.

Maybe more artists should think like sculptors, and figure out how such appearances would function if they were to be created in the real world? It might also save us from characters who carry guns that are bigger than themselves, or from straps of pouches going every which way all over their bodies, inhibiting movement for no purpose.

That change in Nova's costume is a visual reminder why I don't read comics
anymore.

The model is fine, but the costume designs can't be compare, imo. The original is really cool, this is just too overworked.
I think they made the "mistake" of using the new version in the Eaglemoss line as well.

Since money has actually changed hands, so this is more or less official now,
here's an update on the 40 inch Fireball XL5…

With any luck I should have it around the second week of March.
