There have been several large sized Fireball models over the years. I
had one myself as a kid. It was a "flying" model, launched with what
amounted to a slingshot and with a parachute packed in side that
(sometimes) slowed its return to the ground.
But, like its large sized cousins, it was off-scale. I want something like the
Thunderbird 2 and FAB 1 models I have sitting on my shelf.
(I have the die-cast metal 10" version of the XL-5, which is pretty sweet, but
outside the porn industry 10 inches isn't really considered "large".)

Well, the only thing on horizon (Gerry Anderson-wise) from the people putting out those wonderful Prop Replicas, is the Space 1999 Mark IX Hawk (no firm release date). Nice, but I'd prefer Sky One from UFO, or Skydiver itself.
The last Fireball XL-5 TV reference I remember was in the 1998 miniseries 'From the Earth to the Moon', where they used end title song at the beginning of Lunar Module episode...

And, of course, I would find it hard to resist a big, honkin' SUPERCAR!
The "Supermarionation" corner of the Studio. . .
Fireball is upstairs in the TV room, along with a "Phillipine mahogany"
Supercar.
