Funny thing is, I learned that chest-obscures-legs shot from studying. . .
Neal Adams!

That Adams Superman pose looks awkward no matter how you slice it, particularly in the flow of his cape. If Superman is flying, why would his cape be partially hugging his back? And how could the cape be partially flowing forward with another flowing backward at the same time? I would think that wind resistance would pull all of the cape in the opposite direction of Superman's forward motion.

Superman is clearly at the top of an arc in that shot. He's pushing up
against his cape, as he begins to arc over and head down, so the cape is
hugging his back. This would be why Neal included the legs. But, for me,
they just create "drag", and the arc effect is accomplished just fine with the
wrap of the cape and the downward thrust of the right arm.

I was looking at Marvel's original Captain Marvel, in the green and white, as
having some potential for a Guardian custom. I don't know how easily the
material the pieces are cast from carves, tho. That could be an expensive
experiment!!
---------------
JB, a really basic run down of customizing a statue: strip the original in 100% acetone, dremmel tool and fine file off the parts you don't want, aves sculpt putty to smooth into existing grooves/lines and to shape new parts, aves has a smoothing solution, too - then prime and paint the finished product. It's fairly easy and cheap - just time consuming.

this guy HERE does some amazing custom work

The Human Torch joins the line-up. Also, a look at Galactus, who arrived
last week.
Odd thing about the Torch. When I was a kid in Canada, a favorite lunch
used to be a couple of sandwiches made with a spread called Lemon
Cheeze. The flames on Johnny's head look exactly like that stuff!

JB, I will attempt a Guardian sculpt.
If you want, you could do a drawing of the exact pose you want and I will do my best to match your model.
This would be just for fun on my part, When I finish it I will post it and if you aren't interested we can just pretend the whole thing never happened. :)
I will go ahead and start on it, if you are interested in doing a diagram, let me know.
Maybe if enough people liked it we could pool together and have it cast or I would attempt to cast it myself and make a little run of them.
Be warned though, I am very hit-or-miss with my sculpting. So it's a crap shoot!
Here is another JB sketch I attempted awhile ago.

Charles -- much thanks for the thought, but my only interest in having a
Guardian statue would be in the exercise of making it for myself. You might
talk to Ryan, tho!
Nice job on Wolverine!
