while i dont like Ross's take on Batman, i really like his version of Superman.
and i still wonder what JB's take on Marvelman would be like

Superman as Ross portrayed him does work best. Most all the rest are glaringly NOT the heroes but regular guys in costumes...but Ross' Superman, who looks mature and "thick" ala Curt Swan, is just right.

i agree Chad, my Supermen were Curt Swan and Wayne Boring.
loved JB's take,and Neal Adams, but Neal draws Superman differently these days.

grumble grumble stuff i've said a hundred times before grumble
grumble.
And, you know what really burns my biscuits about that Ross
Superman? ing DC hypocrisy. Kirby drew the S emblem
just about like that, and it had to be "fixed". Different minds making
different decisions, sure -- but one more example of the singer being
more important than the song.

I stand prepared to bring down the Wrath of the Gods upon my furry head,
but it seems to me that Adams Superman would look much better without
the legs and -- ahem - - package showing.
