Not at all. By lucky coincidence, Spider-Man's "grip" is precisely the size of
the supporting rods in the shelving.

Mr. Byrne, I've noticed that your wonderful Superboy and New Gods figures
are still in their packaging. What makes you keep them there when you have
opened some of your other toys for display?

"Can't say I'm crazy about the sculpt."
That's based off Jim Lee's Joker.

Some figures, especially PVC sets, or pairs of action figures, are easier to
display when left in their packaging. For one thing, it allows them to be
stacked, so several sets can share the same "footprint".
Also, most of the stuff that's out of the boxes/packaging is statues and
other things that don't really fall in the "action figure" category.

I caved and have started picking up "select" Mighty Muggs. I'm fearful that my "damn completist mentality" will kick in, though.
And--if they start doing DC characters...well...I'll need to build an addition to the house.

I know what you mean. I intended to only pick up Iron Man to celebrate the film; I now have about 7 or 8.
A few years ago I decided to pick up a Superman figure to celebrate my love of the character. It was intended to be my "one and only" action figure.
I now own over 60 action figures and its growing all the time. Unfortunately, space limitations allow me only really display 15-- half of which are Superman, 2 Batmans, 2 Spider-Mans, a Sin City Marv and a few other odds and ends. I rotate things on a near bi-weekly basis, but leave a few of my favorite Supermans.

My Supermarionation shelves continue to expand. I held off on this large
sized (note my glasses next to it for scale) Eagle for a while, as the
pictures seemed to suggest the details were "softer" than the foot long
version I already had. But Entertainment Earth had it for almost half off,
so I finally pulled the trigger.
Now, if they'd only do a large scale Fireball XL-5. . . .
