BTW - Thanks to Dwayne for the heads up on the Red Skull and Thanos. I pre-ordered them too!

I'm a vicarious collector...through YOU guys.

I guess this makes me also a 'visual enthusiast of action figures, statues and other toys of superheroes'.

This would be a totally different story if I had multiple funding streams.

C'mon, Kirk. It's not like you have to eat every day.

Don't have a photo to post at the moment, but I did want to let everyone know I was able to pick up one of the Hot Wheels 60's TV era Batmobiles the other day. I also got one of those little Japanese Star Trek ships. The ones that have a little bag of chocolate candy in the box(?). Got the Grissom. Very nice detail for so small a piece.

I have photos now.

True! I've already adopted that rule..but I double up on the following day to make up for it.

Multiple funding streams are the answer.

You do custom figures, Jodi?  Have we seen any examples of your work, or do you have any pictures posted on other forums?  I love to see customs!

Hi John I love doing customs, I used to do them a lot when my oldest son was into star wars, I also did some custom heroclixs. I had several of my pieces in Toyfare magazine when they ran Homemade Heroes contests. Also I used to make lifesize ewoks. I still have some of the magazines I'll scan the pictures and post them.

My favorite figures to do were Batman figures from the Batman Gotham Adventures. I'll see if I can locate some of those.

This is a custom figure I did for the editor of our local newspaper

Here is one of my ewoks

NICE work Jodi -- show us more!  In the spirit of "I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours," here are a few of customs that I've done:

These were featured on Day 13 of CustomCon 13:

You can see work-in-progress pics of the Question custom on the vicsage.com site:

The Question Custom Action Figure Tutorial

Been away from customs/sculpting for a while, but I've recently started to get back into it -- I'm currently finishing up a Captain Marvel JLU custom that I started a couple of years ago (featuring scratch-built head sculpt and a custom cape that I'm pretty proud of), and I've started on a 98mm Iron Man Marvel Figurine custom (smallest scale I've worked with so far).

Fun stuff!

Lars and John Thanks

LOL

Lars I would love to see your Batman customs. I have all of mine in a tote in the basement, we re-did a room in the basement to be more grown up (aka boring ) and I put up all my Batman figures, I had them in really great shadow boxes with a blown up section out of the comic books as a backdrop.

John Bodin your work is amazing, I love your Captain Cold, very nice!

I haven't been doing customs much either,  I really miss it, that is why I am excited about the blank Mighty Muggs. A lot of people on here do really nice custom work. I used to love the magazine Toyfare but they started moving away from custom work and started showing already made toys, it became more like a catalog. It was also a lot funnier, the guys from Robot Chicken started out there.
