Agreed.  The action figure itself is even worse--the Surfer's board has a handle on it, and the Silver Surfer, excuse me, Silver Savage uses it as a shield a la Captain America.

JB beat me to it.  All I can say is I'm thrilled I resisted even trying PLANET HULK.  It got lots of praise and lots of people personally recommended it to me.  A pat on the back to me for not caving in.

It seems at times as if all Fandom is divided into two parts -- those who
demand an eternal constancy, with not even the smallest detail allowed to
change from issue to issue, year to year, and those who want everything to
change, all the time. What's crazy is that these very often seem to be the
same people! I want GROWTH and CHANGE -- but don't change THAT!   I
LIKE that!!

A friend and I were having a conversation about this same attitude in
regards to the latest Indiana Jones movie. In this case, all of the negative
online comments made me enjoy it more. Better than ToD.

I read the issues leading up to Planet Hulk, this is were the Savage Surfer
appeared, and thought they were pretty good. The actual event was kind of a
let down, though.

I was wondering why the Silver Surfer stole Hawkgirl's mace . . .

If the Silver Savage is so concerned about being hurt that he wears shin protection why is he only wearing a loinclothto protect his groin?  What is he trying to hide with that loincloth that he never had to hide before?

The Hasbro Marvel Legends line has yet to find the balance between the sculpt and articulation. Also their head sculpts tend to be ugly. I think they need to look to the Mattel DC Universe Classics line for that balance. I might get Adam Warlock and the Silver Savage though. (The bad guy found the Surfer in a weakened state and was able to slip a mind control disk on him for those wondering.)

In other news, Dynamite is re-releasing this Adam Hughes statue in full color, as opposed to the red and gray it was before:

Just so people who haven't read Planet Hulk know the context, the Silver
Surfer was captured and had a mind-control device which forced him to be a
gladiator on Planet Hulk. He didn't do it out of free will, natch.
