Wayne Osbourne said "Then each issue will follow monthly after that until all 6 are published "
Monthly?! They can do that??
****************
Nah. Everyone knows that Byrne can't put a monthly comic.

Maybe you could come out west to the Emerald City Con May 10 & 11th here in Seattle to promote your book. Then we could have a big JBF get together that Saturday night. That might be fun.
Edited to correct the date.

Wayne -
If you need a place to crash while here in Seattle, let me know.
(And flannel is *so* 90s; we're in to Gortex now, and electric cars.)

Wayne, if you're looking for any cover logo (masthead) ideas, let me know - I'd give it a shot. If John Workman is doing one, though, I'm sure I couldn't top that!!
If interested, email me at mark@m2designlab.com

Wayne, I'm sure you've thought of this already as you scheme to recoup some of your sizable investment, but just in case:
Have you considered doing a publicity campaign for FX that features your fascinating "behind the scenes" (or rather, "panels") story of wealthy fan writes comic book and gets legendary pro artist to draw it?
We all know JB is a great interview subject (and Byrne Manor II a nice backdrop for the cameras!), so if he was willing to participate you'd be halfway home.
As for your portion, a good angle for you could be to say, 'They don't make the kind of fun comics I grew up with anymore, so I hired the best artist I could and wrote one myself.' Rather than well-off geek throwing your money away (which is one way the media could spin the story left to their own devices), you become the benefactor and champion of the good, old-fashioned entertainment of the all-ages comic book, something as classically American as rock n' roll or baseball (yet sadly on the edge of extinction across the land). This makes for a real feel-good narrative and places FX in a broader cultural context. IMHO, it's a great story -- Katie Couric, Dateline, etc., should be all over it! Even if they pass, it should at least be meaty enough for an article in Entertainment Weekly or some such mag.
You might have to spend a little more of your money on a publicist to navigate these waters (unless you can trust IDW to do it for you), but it could be worth it in attracting interest in FX, particularly in the trade paperback market and of course, in Hollywood (yours is a terrific concept for a movie, after all).

oh, you non-Seattle folk . . .
(and that offer of a place to crash goes out to you too, JB; y'know, just in
case you're in the area . . . )
