Congrats, Wayne!  I've made it no secret that I really love IDW.  I got in on the ground floor by buying their earliest comics and have touted them to everyone I know as a good, strong, fun publishing company.  I even got a chance to talk to Chris Ryall, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, at Comicon this year.  Really nice guy.  All of this to say that I think signing with them to publish FX is a wonderful thing.  As I got a chance to read the first issue, I can only say that I'm looking forward to seeing it full size, in color, and the complete run come next spring/summer.  Great news!

Congratulations Wayne!!!
And congrats to JB to, of course. :)

This is really nice news.

Incidentally (and feel free to call me a heathen) I must admit that IDW doesn't ring a real bell for me. Does anybody have a link to a site of theirs, as I understand from this that they're obviously a company to keep an eye on.
Also, do they distribute via Diamond (or whatever that distributor is called these days)? Just wondering since I believe that is what most Swedish stores dealing in US comics use.

Wayne Osbourne said "Then each issue will follow monthly after that
until all 6 are published "

Monthly?! They can do that??

Congrats Wayne. I'll also be picking up a couple of copies to support your dream job with JB. This is cool as hell!! (if I believed in hell and it was cool there)

Best of luck, Sean

Wayne, i'm really looking foreward to read your comics.
Please, considere that not all the members are from the US, so an international postage.
Maybe all the French here can gather and make a one order ?

****************

Yes they are distrubuted by Diamond. To answer your other question Joakim IDW has a variety of titles they publish.

  • They have the license to put out Star Trek (which JB is doing a one-shot), Angel, Tranformers and Scarface comics.
  • They have also done licensed comics like The Shield and CSI in the past.
  • IDW published the title 30 Days of Night that is soon to be released as a movie.
  • They also publish great collections of The Badger, Grimjack and Jon Sable: Freelance. (They also published new comics featuring the latter two titles).
  • IDW has great collections of old newspaper strips like Dick Tracy and Terry and the Pirates.

Thanks Paul!
Do they have a web page or something that you know of?

What with the JB ST one shot and FX this seems to be a company who could get me to buy new comics in comicbook format for the first time in a wee bit.
