Wow! Great piece! I am especially impressed by the chopped head, it looks so real. I LOVE the way you drew her metal dress, amazing to me. I also love her boots, especially her right foot. Thank you so much for sharing.

Even if JB hasn't worked much in S&S, if he were to do such a series, we know we'd be guaranteed one thing: some great-looking cities, sorcerers and monsters.
Remember the Dweller BWS drew in an early issue of Conan? JB could so do that kinda stuff.

Oh, good -- no pressure!
I'm a bit late to this party, but damn that's a fabulous Red Sonja illo. I also think that a JB sword & sorcery title would be cool.

...I believe this is the first character pose of a non-Marvel and non-DC character.•• Sort of. But only because Marvel's lawyers dropped the ball. Sonja is not a Robert E. Howard character. She is based, very loosely on a character he created called Red Sonya, who was set a few thousand years after Conan. A fan wrote in to the CONAN comic, saying it was a pity the Cimmerian could not link up with Sonya, as she would be his kinda gal, and Roy Thomas immediately installed Red Sonja in the Conan mythos. So, if somebody had been a bit faster out of the gate, Sonja would be a Marvel character -- and as far as I'm concerned, she always will be.

Now it makes sense why Arnold was in the Red Sonja movie, but wasn't Conan in it....
