Ok... I guess no one knows this bit of trivia...

The answer is: Lilo & Stitch director, Chris Sanders. Chris told me back when he was working for Marvel animation (on the Muppet Babies TV show) they needed to find someone who would "fit" the SPIDER-MAN mask for a few photos (or perhaps the whole costume -- I don't remember) -- they picked Chris -- photos were taken -- trivia was asked -- the end.

You've given me the answer and I still don't know who it is. :-)

Seriously the timing doesn't sound right. The Muppet Babies were in the 80's. That pic had to be in the 70's.

I'm not doubting you at all, Nathan. I just thought this picture was older than the era he mentioned.

JB: Is that who your information suggests is behind the mask as well?

Cool! Thanks for the info!

Once you said who it was, I found this from Mark Evanier's website:

http://www.newsfromme.com/archives/2005_01_20.html

Also, Scott Shaw! identifies the person wearing the Spider-Man costumes in the picture I ran...

Dunno if you're aware of it, but the photo you've posted with the "With Great Profits Comes Great Responsibility" article is of additional interest, inasmuch as it was photographed when Stan was at Marvel Productions. The fellow in the Spidey costume was Chris Sanders, the creator of Lilo and Stitch for Disney. Chris was working for me at the time as a character designer on Jim Henson's Muppet Babies, and frankly, was the only employee there who was physically fit enough to look good in the Spider-togs.

See! It was Sanders! :D

I worked with Chris (here at Disney) before he went to DreamWorks.

That guy in the Spider-Man pic above looks a lot like Chris Claremont.

I thought the same thing, Paul, when I saw that commercial.

Count me as one who also thought that one pic posted looked like Chris Claremont in a Spider-Man outfit.
